💛 The Secret Love Project is a charity in Cape Town that helps the homeless. 💛 It is an urban artwork designed to spread love in the world using the heart shape. 💛 The artwork was created in 2014 by Michael Elion for World Design Capital in Cape Town. 💛 It was created to subliminally influence peoples perceptions using the heart shape. 💛 The artwork has become a big charity that helps the homeless and spreads love in the world. 💛 The artwork has become a collaboration with the city's inhabitants.

HOW YOUR GOLDEN HEART HELPS THE HOMELESS
💛 We provide15,000 heart sticker packs, free of charge, to the homeless every month. 💛 Our homeless vendors sell the colourful heart stickers to motorists at R50 each. 💛 Vendors keep 100% of the money they earn from every pack they sell. 💛 Collectively each month our sellers earn around R750,000. 💛 Each year our sellers earn around R9 million rand. 💛 We don’t touch a cent of their earnings, ever. 💛 We have over 800 registered homelessvendors spreading love in the world. 💛 Your Golden Heart helps us to be able to produce free heart stickersfor them to do this. 💛 The sticker packs are 100% recyclable. 💛 Vendors are able to buy food, clothing & hygiene products for themselves and their dependents. 💛 They are able to afford shelter fees and take care of their basic needs. 💛 Vendors often move off the streets into safer housing. 💛 Vendors get job opportunities through their sales. 💛 Vendors go through drug rehabilitation. 💛 Meaningful work supports recovery from addiction and reduces relapse. 💛 Vendors support their children with school fees and food. 💛 Long-term sellers have stayed clean and off the streets for years. 💛 The project spreads emotional healing and a sense of belonging. 💛 Spreading love in the world restores pride and dignity. 💛 People who have felt forgotten and marginalised now feel welcomed by society. 💛 Vendors become more positive and confident through daily work. 💛 Vendors build meaningful connections with the community. 💛 Hearts on cars carry messages of love throughout the city. 💛 People on the streets feel loved and accepted for the first time. 💛 Any petty crime they may have committed to survive stops almost instantly. 💛 It’s easier , more fun, more rewarding (and way less stressful) to make money selling heart stickers. 💛 Vendors have replaced prostitution with heart sticker sales. 💛 The project spreads emotional healing and a sense of belonging. 💛 Daily interactions with motorists brighten vendors’ outlook on life. 💛 In winter we provide durable, full body, rain suits (free of charge) to protect sellers in harsh winter weather. 💛 Rain suits keep vendors dry & healthy, and able to continue making an honest living in the rain. 💛 We provide free haircuts daily for our homeless vendors to look presentable for job opportunities. 💛 Clean haircuts boost confidence and open doors to employment. 💛 We pay for national ID cards for our vendors. 💛 We assist our vendors at Home Affairs. 💛 Your Golden Heart funds sticker production so every rand multiplies into vendor earnings. 💛 Love Runs and community events raise funds while building compassion & community. 💛 Visible heart stickers make Cape Town kinder & safer for everyone. 💛 Your support turns vulnerability into independence and lasting hope. 💛 The heart stickers create a beautiful symbol of compassion visible everywhere. 💛 The project builds a stronger, more connected community in Cape Town. 💛 Help us to continue helping the homeless and spreading love in the world! 💛 Your Golden Heart is has the power to change the world.
